URL Lifecycle

A URL in Joonz goes through several stages throughout its lifetime. Understanding these stages helps you better manage your shortened URLs.

1. Creation

When you create a URL, you can:

  • Use a custom code or let the system generate one
  • Set password protection
  • Configure redirection rules
  • Add QR codes
  • Set expiration dates
  • Attach to campaigns

2. Active Stage

Once created, your URL enters its active stage where:

  • It's ready to receive and redirect visitors
  • Analytics data is collected
  • Smart routing rules are applied
  • All protection features are enforced

3. Updates & Maintenance

You can modify your URL at any time to:

  • Change the destination URL
  • Update protection settings
  • Modify redirection rules
  • Adjust campaign settings

4. Expiration

A URL can become inactive when:

  • It reaches its set expiration date
  • You manually deactivate it
  • It's deleted from the system

Note

  • Expired URLs return a "not found" error
  • Deactivated URLs can be reactivated at any time
  • Analytics data is preserved even after URL expiration
