Custom domains allow you to use your own branded domain for shortened URLs instead of joo.nz. For example, instead of joo.nz/abc123, your links could be link.yourbrand.com/abc123.

Setting Up Your Custom Domain

Step 1: Add Your Domain

1. Go to Dashboard > Custom Domains
2. Click "Connect New Domain"
3. Enter your domain (e.g., links.yourbrand.com)

Step 2: Configure DNS Records

Add these DNS records to your domain:

Type: A
Host: links (or your subdomain)
Value: YOUR_PROVIDED_IP
TTL: 3600 (or default)

Type: TXT
Host: links (or your subdomain)
Value: joonz-verify=YOUR_VERIFICATION_CODE
TTL: 3600 (or default)

Step 3: Verify Domain

1. After adding DNS records, click "Verify Domain"
2. The system will check your DNS configuration
3. Once verified, your domain will be activated

Best Practices

1. Use a Subdomain: Instead of your main domain, use a subdomain like:

   • go.yourbrand.com
   • link.yourbrand.com
   • short.yourbrand.com

2. SSL Security: All custom domains automatically get SSL certificates

3. Domain Management:

   • Keep DNS records updated
   • Monitor domain health
   • Ensure domain renewal

Using Your Custom Domain

Once set up, you can:

• Select your domain when creating new short links
• Set it as default for all new links
• Use it in bulk operations
• Access it via the API

Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions:

1. Domain Not Verifying:

   • Check DNS records are correct
   • Wait for DNS propagation (up to 48 hours)
   • Verify TXT record format

2. SSL Certificate Issues:

   • Ensure DNS is properly configured
   • Wait for certificate issuance (up to 24 hours)

3. Domain Not Working:

   • Verify A record is correct
   • Check domain status in dashboard
   • Ensure domain hasn't expired
